new landline connection

Hi guys!!!I have applied for a new landline connection.I am at wadala exchange!!!! They have given me some default number which they had in their systems,however i do not like that number and wish to change it to some number of my choice.Is it possible?????WHat do i do now!! whom do i go and meet.The workorder has already been generated.... for the old number (THE NUMBER WHICH I DO NOT LIKE).WHat do i do??? pls reply,so that i can change the number before they activate it

Wadala exchange used to have a PRO sitting on the ground floor, if that post still exists best meet him. He should be the best person to advise.

That work order was already out. They had already alloted me some crap number. I went there and talked with that babu. He gave a big fat printed book which was full of numbers and told me to select a number from it. I did what he said... and that's how I got the number of my choice. It's no big deal. You need to deal with the babu though!
