True if the person has limited use for the net connection. BTW What makes you think that kids have limited use? :hysterical: You must be a bachelor lol

These plans have unlimited data and limited speed, that is why good for small kids...

affordable, tension free, parents and kids both happy

 Don't all UL plans have a limited speed. if you see Introduction
eg: DSL_Unlimited_599 is a UL plan where the speed is constant 512kbps
DSL_Unlimited_749 is a UL plan where the speed is constant 752Kbps etc
the speed does not change thru the entire month no matter how much you download. I thought it was similar in both cities.

as far as broadband is concerned there is no competition in market, don't know how long this situation will prevail Airtle is going in reverse by imposing some unacceptable fup limits, BSNL took no time in adapting same policy that airtel had invented from bullshit ,I suppose

^ IIRC, this whole FUP thing was started by Tata. Airtel just followed the lead given by Tata. Airtel probably have a far bigger customer base here on IBF and that is why their FUP gets the most flack.

do not forgot sify was the one starting it with a 150MB PER DAY limit on their unlimited plans :D

airtel made it mainstream just because they have more customers who know what they can do on the web.

I think I understand what jalanbk is trying to say. Probably a more appropriate expression may have been unlimited data at limited (predetermined) cost so that the bill payer is not worried how much the net users are downloading.I think we need to also understand that these are prepaid plans and some people are just more comfortable with prepaid. I wonder how speed change works here. I mean if I buy a 384 kbps coupon one month and then a 192 kbps coupon how does that work? If that switch happens correctly, there is a niche market for that too. Another niche could be those who come home to Mumbai for a month or so 2 or 3 times a year. They could buy the 384 kbps coupon while their parents who only use email can probably be happy with 192 kbps for the other 10-11 months.Just tossing up hypothetical situations.

is switching from bsnl to mtnl possible? I live in delh ncr actually - faridabad.
