Well this can happen very easily.

Changing to MPEG4 will need major changes:
1. All STB's need to be MPEG4 compliant. Hence all existing STB's need to replace (or they will need to carry transmission with MPEG2 for old STB's which is problem of all cause)
2. Changes also needed at headend where all MPEG2 encoders & compressors will need to be replaced by MPEG4 devices

Instead if ISRO is planning any satellite in vicinity to existing INSAT 4A orbit, its easy to hire TP's from it.
And one more thing sooner or later every DTH operator will need to commence HDTV transmission which will create need for upgration of all devices, so I don't think they will invest now for changing MPEG2 to MPEG4

I Don't think Tata Sky will increase its channels. Because from my experience it drops some channels to accomodate new channels. What about all those AIR channels

I read at another forum that 1000 rupees is for the installation of the dish & if you want Tata Sky people to come & install it . You will need to buy the seperate 1000 rupees voucher

there are two gift frm Tata Sky to u all is that good news first two channel is coming next month that is inx news and ndtv imagine :yahoo: secondly 60 more channel will come next year after when airtel, reliance dth will come then will can get foreign channels and some private fm or satellite radio(music choice) also and some good channeland bad news and second news is that cost will be more channel on demand will come like fr eg Lifestyle gold pack, sports gold pack etc and active sports will not come as it will come only if u activate sports gold pack:wall: and also pvr will also come and tatasky will buy or hire more transponders so that there promise of 200 channel will be true

hiring a new transponders it cost 4 cores rupees per transponders

Will TS even exist by that time.. Reliance will again steal the market..
I dont see Ts doing anything to make more customers except free offers..
Customers realise that they have done a blunder subscribing to it..
Channels need to be added and more customer oriented services need to be launched...
