Hi FriendsI'm experiencing the packet loss in mid of browsing or downloading in every few seconds. Though the connection is there, the download shows "0" ZERO bytes as transfer and then after couple of seconds it resumes download. And the same hide-n-seek continues. It is happening while browsing also. It keeps saying "Connecting" and after couple of seconds it will load the page and then again after few seconds it will stop loading.I had talked to one of my friend in my city (Pune) having BSNL BB and he has the same issue. I want to know, Is it for all Pune or PAN India BSNL BB users problem or only for me and my friend ???

it must be prob wid ur modem...most of d modems r faulty..which bsnl gives..which is urs?

Oh!
I have BSNL provided modem. Do you think it would be a problem in BSNL's modem ?

@ urpradhan1. Is your friend still facing this issue ? Make sure it is only with you.2. Check using a friend's modem and confirm it is a modem issue.3. Reset the modem to factory settings and reconfigure it. Check if you are still facing this issue. 4. Which mode are you using ? PPPoE or Bridge ? Switch to other and check. Configure in PPPoE, insert a Linux live CD and check if you can browse. 5. Take the modem to exchange and ask them to check. See if the same happens there. If yes, they are bound to give a replacement. If you use a non BSNL modem, later, BSNL will blame every issue (even those due to line condition) on your modem and play ignorant.

I'm using it in bridge mode. And the problem persists across OSes, I mean in my LinuxMint too.

Switch to PPPoE and check. Also check using another modem or take it to exchange and check.
