Nokia G-140W-F bridge mode?

Okay Happy Final Update. Nokia G2425G-A and Asus connected to it on Port 4 are both doing PPPOE Connections with different Public IP addresses. Speed in both networks is now 200 MBPS. Earlier the cable from Port 4 on Nokia to WAN port on ASUS was not properly connected and was connecting at 100 MBPS. Now after it is connected properly at 1GBPS, speed is 200 MBPS.
So the best option
1. In Nokia LAN Settings Change Port 4 to Bridge mode.
2. Ask Airtel to enable bridge mode.
3. PPPOE Login will happen from both the Nokia and your personal Router with different Public IP Addresses.
4. Internet will work through the ports 1-3 and Wireless SSID of the Nokia.
5. Your Router will be able to do a PPPOE Login and Internet will work through it too.
6. Speed through both is plan speed (200 MBPS in my case)

The Alcatel modem doesn't support speeds above 200 Mbps as informed by the backend engineer. I am already on the gigabit plan so switching to the Alcatel was not an option for me, even though it is a modem only device.

Are you sure? My router is connected at 1000mbps to alcatel thriugh ethernet. It should support. I am only looking for 200mbps plan, so it should be okay.

@firearm12 I'm just telling what was told to me by the Airtel guys. Maybe he was telling about the WAN speeds and not the gigabit LAN ports in the router. I asked them to give me a modem-only device and that's when they told me that they have only Alcatel which doesn't support their gigabit plan.

I'm using alcatel with 200mbps plan and till last month it was 300 mpbs plan. No issues with that.

Just checked i am also getting more than 350mpbs (asked for 200mbps) with alcatel, looks like they triggered the change. From last 6 days they were adamant that the device needs to be changed and doesnt support high speeds. Its really important to talk to right guy i think. Anyone looking for simple bridge mode can also ask airtel to provide the alcatel ont.

The issue I had with the Alcatel bridge device was that nobody knew the username and password for its webui. Even Airtel backend also were not able to help since their system no longer supports this device.

I eventually returned it since I dont like a device running on my network which i dont have access to.

I guess it's already known but bridge mode on the Nokia ONT won't work no matter what you do until enabled through the backend by airtel.

For those interested in using multiple IPs on a single connection, the only way I know is to use bridge mode.

I recently got airtel xstream installed. The steps I followed were almost the same as above. I have the Nokia G2425G-A ONT and TP-Link Archer C80.

1. In Nokia LAN settings, changed Port 4 to Bridge mode.
2. Connected the ONT (LAN port 4) and my router (WAN port).
2. Added the PPPOE username and password in the TPlink router. I also had enable VLAN/IPTV in my personal router and set the Internet VLAN ID as 100.

I did not have to call with Airtel customer care to enable the bridge mode. I was able to set it up without any issue (I had to figure out the VLAN stuff which I got a clue from this thread itself).

PPPOE Login will happen from both the Nokia and your personal Router with different Public IP Addresses.
Speed through both is the plan speed (200 MBPS in my case). I've disabled wifi on the Nokia.

Thanks all for contributing to this thread. I'm a silent reader usually but thought I should contribute here since this thread was very helpful.

@ravenous24 AFAIK my TP-Link router is assigned a public IP and tracert does not show anything off. Unless Airtel is using CGNAT and the assigned IP is private as well then it may be a double NAT. But it's not being routed through the Nokia router at least. That has a separate IP last time I checked.

Edit 1: I checked the IP address for both the routers. The Nokia one has a 122... ip while the TP link has a 171... ip which may be a private IP. Both connect to the same gateway with 122.. ip

Edit 2: So I deleted 'TR069_INTERNET_R_VID_100' WAN profile from the Nokia router (one can use the Inspect Html tool in firefox and change disabled under fieldset to make the WAN page editable. Make delete button clickable and then click it to delete the profile. Do have a config backup incase things go south). The Nokia router now has no internet network access and only has landline profile active. And my TPlink router has a public IP which starts with 122.. So finally only my router has internet network access and the nokia router fully acts as a bridge.
