I switched my connection to Jio my Nokia Router was sitting around, thought about using it as bridge to create one more Access point. Any other suggestions would be highly appreciated

Yeah this new firmware version is absolute trash. The router 5Ghz performance is comparatively worse than earlier and overall responsiveness has gone down.

The locked down options also is truly truly horrible and gets on my nerves.

Add that with the recent speed capping, overall experience is unsatisfying. It doesn't feel Airtel like.

The only good thing from this firmware is that the 2.4Ghz performance has gone up, I get 2x the speeds than before.

Fed up with my existing AirtelXstream router. No functionality at all. Everything locked up. Can't find any forums that talks about unlocking the G-2425G-A with the hardware version 3TN00562AABA. They totally removed Telnet and SSH functionality and even they removed Restore and Backup option too. How can be they so cruel to their own customers? If anyone finds something please inform us. It will be a great help.

If you guys want to meddle with the PPPoE and other settings ask Airtel to set the ONT in bridge mode and then connect your own WiFi or other 1router to the Airtel ONT for authentication/DHCP functions for your home network.

Airtel locks their routers tight so that no 'unauthorised' changes are made that may necessitate technical support from their side. It's all about cost savings and maintaining their network at predefined standards for security and other compliances. Remember the ONT remains Airtel's property.

I never touch my Nokia 2425 dont need to as it is in bridge mode and every bit related to my home network is controlled by my router.

Mine is also cooked. everything is now locked. I've setup a home lab server but now I can't change any config since LAN settings are locked.
One thing I noticed, that my existing settings are intact.
I want to explore the bridge mode so I can move the DHCP configs to my TP-Link router. Can anyone suggest or link to some tutorial?

Just raise a request with Airtel CC and tell them you don't need a static IP if they try selling you one.
