I am not sure if they are going to price these X devices below let's say Nokia Lumia 520. Maybe the X model could be. But knowing Nokia, they are probably going to keep the price tag in the range of 8-12K. In reality these devices should cost in the range of 6-10K.
I am not sure. I do not think Nokia Lumia devices are overpriced. In fact they are priced quite nicely. The problem is of course the restrictions and the app ecosystem. And for some people using Android does not solve it because you are still forcing use to use crappy alternatives to Google services.

Keeping humor aside, few months after these phone launched, everything will be cleared. People who do not follow Google services much are target customers for this phone. They would only buy because of Nokia + Android combo and due to lower price tag, like Nokia Asha Series buyers.
I do not see high end Nokia-Android phones coming in near future because that would simply hurt Lumia + WP Series
Amazon did kind of same thing with Kindle lineup, and Cyanogen was out for that too... Maybe, Nokia will also get the taste of cyanogen.

Why would you buy mediocre hardware and then root it and then install a custom ROM on it when you can buy decent hardware preloaded with proper Android in the first place?

Don't forget google Play games. It keeps highscores from all the games you play synced between all devices. You can play candy crush on level 60 on phone, pick up tab and start playing from level 61. Its quite good.

Kashamalaga’s guide is quite simple. First, you acquire root access using the Galdalf Exploit in Framaroot. From there, you install a root-capable file manager. Then, you copy a Nokia X-specific Gapps package by Kashamalaga to your /system/app folder, and give it the appropriate permissions. After a reboot and a few more application installs, you are then able to access the Google Play Store, various Google Apps, and the Google Experience Launcher.
