May be you are completely mistaken. The one which you are thinking as a simple splitter might be a adsl splitter and vice versa. :D You know there are so many possibilities so one could never tell who is wrong. Another possibility ismight be the shop keeper has given you a goodAdsl splitter for price of Rs 25  Just Kidding

dude if you arent getting any problems, then just continue using it. :)no need to fear about future problems. :)if that is the case, ill just try using these simple splitters, i anyways wanted more. :)

A "non-adsl splitter" is nothing but a simple mini junction box with an input point where u gotta screw in the main line and two output ports (RJ 15). U just attach the phone and modem with regular RJ 15 wires. If u have Airtel then the lil white box they install at ur place into which the main line goes is the same thing. only difference is that it has just one output slot.

actually both phone and dsl can work without ADSL splitters. An ADSL splitter is used just to isolate the phone from interfering with ADSL frequencies particularly when phone receiver is picked up and placed back on the cradle. So long as the phone does not interfere with frequencies above 4 Khz adsl will work perfectly otherwise data will get corrupted or it will have problems syncing.

U ppl r very lucky. I have a parallel connection in my house. D 1st line directly terminates on d cordless phone & d 2nd line goes 2 d ADSL splitter which then gives connection 2 my ADSL rtr & also another landline phone. Everything goes fine when I am connected 2 Net & also use my landline, but if I use my cordless phone when d ADSL rtr is switched on I rcv very low volume on my phone. Also my caller id stopped functioning due 2 d ADSL splitter. I am still searching 4 a gud solution 4 this problem.

caller id is not blocked by ADSL splitter. I have two separate splitters and none of them blocks caller ID
