Not able to stream youtube above 480p on mobile through JioFiber wifi (2.4 ghz)

Hello,

I am not able to stream YouTube videos above 480p. I have connected my mobile through (2.4 Ghz band) JioFiber wifi router. Anyone having the same issue.

Any solution for thos issue? I have contacted CC but still no resolution yet.

Yes. All devices which have connected through 2.4 Ghz band. No issue of speed.

sounds like the 480p limitation they had during lockdown and still do for mobile users, not sure why its on fixed connection, try clearing data and cache of youtube if you haven't already.

Did u mean you can't select anything above 480 or it buffers?

Some users are facing the issue of the 2.4 GHz band being detected as a hotspot triggering YouTube to switch to 480p

But full quality is back on even mobile data now...I guess the restriction got removed today only.

Yes. I did that. This problem is just on YouTube app. From mobile browser no issue.

OP see if you can change the WiFi network type to unmetered in your phone settings.
