@essbebe/members,I reduced the MTU rate to 1492 but it made no difference. The OS/application is updated. I also tried to connect without a firewall (only the router NAT), but could not connect (Yahoo IM/ pc2phone/G-Earth) with the laptop. Then I tried using the modem in bridged mode and succeeded. Yahoo IM, pc2phone, google-earth all connect. However, I cannot keep it in bridged mode as the desktop pc (used by parents) also needs to connect independently. So PPPoE with NAT is the only option. This was not a problem till a month or so back. :(

members/caffeinator/ Confirm everything is Ok with Modem Ut300R2U and no problems. in using both Desktop and laptop at the same time. All web sites open normally. Setup " Modem in "bridged" dialup mode.1) desktop via USB Port 2 ) Laptop. via ethernet port .Para two: Problem with Laptop only , some sites won't open.If modem set up for "Always On" mode.Open DNS : 208.67.220.220 208.67.222.222 ( can try )

@essbebe /membershi.I tried the openDNS - it does not help either. There is no problem in accessing websites through the browser. It is only the standalone clients such as Yahoo IM, pc2phone (iconnecthere), and Google Earth which cannot login from the laptop on using the dsl modem in PPPoE mode. Google-talk and Pidgin (Gaim) work, as does u-torrent.If I connect to my office VPN, then everything works.

Problem : Laptop accesses all sites in "Bridged Mode"
(Desktop no problem either in Bridged mode or "always on mode ")
Lap top will not access certain standalone sites in " "Always on Mode "PPP/PPPoE"
Laptop accesses same sites in VPN network.
IN UT300R2U do you get a page like this ? Access control ?

@essbebeHi,The access control settings show 'enabled' for all the services (FTP, HTTP, ICMP, SNMP, TELNET, TFTP) on the LAN side, while the WAN side has only ICMP enabled.
