i think their best bet was to get acquired by someone like Amazon.

i think gridos was hoping for something similar.

these companies cannot survive as independent tablet pc manufacturers.

Notion Ink has got plenty of money. They are setting up R&D facilities in China. As per some reports its completely owned by RIL.

Why everyone making fun of Notion Ink?. I agree that they made mistakes. But it is the only Indian company that designs tablets and makes software to it. They are not like Olive,Spice and others who simply rebrand chinese tablets and sell it in India.

And look at price of Adam. Can you find any manufacturer selling Tegra2 powered tablet with Full HDMI,USB ports for 20k in India?

looking at rupee at 50 against dollar i think it will not be less than 16-18 k in india. when launched.

Indian pricing will be 15K

Sai looking at your age, commedable grasp on this you have, I congratulate you on arguing just like us old people ;)
Now back to the point, Notion Ink may be the best and releasing the good, But what matters in Business prospective is OUT COME,
Notion ink failed on
1. Release Date
2. Constant failing on supply
3. The OS is well just not the one which is easily available, Android would have been better since it has high availibility of apps and everything
4. marketting, How many out of us geeks knows about it like people know about Samsung, Archos or even for that matterive and SPICE ?

It seems that Notion in totally into R&D rather than into consumer market
again I state its the output that matters, You cant provide a comparable Product( may be it has less feature) or you cant be in eyes of customer You are doomed to fail.

Given a chance that it will provide features like 3g I will buy it even for 26-30K, Its impressive but its jut not there ANY MORE!

1. Release Date
I agree with you

Yes they failed in pre-order 1. But in 2nd and 3rd round they shipped in time.

Agree.

They should at least build a nice website before thinking of future versions of Adam.

Got a mailer advertisement from them - to buy the "hottest" tablet around (hope they dont mean the heat generated by the hardware) ... They are releasing ICS for their tablets - Alpha version by Mid-Jan & Beta by end-Jan... Guess delay by 2-3 months from the "promise" as mentioned by Sai above.
