Now 90 Hrs of Recording in Tata Sky Plus Instead of 45 HRS

Strategy!!Charge FULLY but limit usability initially.Then in future, increase capacity 2 double claiming FOR FREE!!

yes amish, TS are more strategic in these types of things and few users fall in their traps. To TS reps and fanboys & acgirls .. Do the hell with these, just tell me how much % of Ts users benefit from this? Hardly less than 10% of them have TS+.So TS wants to please them :grin: Maybe now they are coming from low pyramid for these things :inodding:what we users of Ts wants is CHANGE, because Change is Good.We have got bored of these s*** packs,all other DTH including newly launched ones are revising their packs every few months but in TS we are seeing the same packs since long time.They call those as SAVER packs.. but they are more savings to TS rather than customers

Exactly,These are tricks used by tata's to show that they care about the customers
The probably think people are fool and by doubling the capacity of recording,all customers would praise them

We can only praise them when they add channels and revise the packs and cust down the rates

if WE Compare our packs with other Dth services then there is almost a difference of 1200 Rs(if we compare our mega pack with other DTH's base pack annually along with add ons)

Just imagine,how much more money we are paying that too for less channels when compared

This is indeed a great news as they recording is twice its previous capacity and also beneficial for existing subscribers as it is available to them FREE of cost.

Hi Guys,I called up the CC for some account related queries and i also asked them about the upgrade in Tata Sky plus recording capacity to 90 HRsThis is what the representative explained me.1)Tata Sky Hdd is Split into 2 parts,80 gb for storage and 80 Gb for live functions(pausing and rewinding)2)Previously,Even as the STB was capable of saving it in Mpeg4 format,it used to save the recorded contents only in Mpeg2 format.He also told me that Mpeg4 services are the next version of Mpeg2 services and it compresses the recorded files by taking less space and by giving the same clarity.3)Now with the recent software upgrade,the STB is able to save the recorded contents in mpeg4 format,thus compressing the reocorded mpeg2 files to mpeg4 format and adding more recording space.And thats the reason why the software upgrade happended first in normal tata sky and then in tata sky plus.4)Though Tata sky still provides only Mpeg2 services,the recorded files will also be in Mpeg2 only,but it will compress and save it in mpeg4 mode and will give us more recording space.The rep also told me that tata sky has done the software upgrade so that the services can be transfered to Mpeg4,to add more channels as Mpeg4 technology can compress the entire channel as well, by giving lot more space to add more channels and more over the channel clarity will further increase.I asked him if there is any chance of a new channels coming in.The rep said ,the software technicians are checking if normal STBs (i.e normal tata sky Stbs which has mpeg2) ,are able to grap up Mpeg4 signals,so that existing customer dont have to upgrade there mpeg2 STBs.once it is succesfull,channel count will be increasedSo,i just got a ray of hope from tata sky and i hope this comes true as soon as Possible.
