ISP
???
My neighbor used to have an wifi connection shared with some other neighbors few years ago. Then they stopped using it now my father and the same neighbor wish for a shared wifi connection again. But new connection will obviously cost something and theres that previous connection still lying around. Even a 5ghz router is still connected to the line. But the problem is they don't know who was the broadband provider back then as the other guys handled everything. I have reset the router and login but no help. What can i do?

The neighbor and my father have planned to pay in half. There's also a 3rd guy who lives in our apartment but we can't be sure about him.

It is a wired connection? Check from where the cable comes from and then see where else it connects to. Ask them about their ISP then.

Does it work like that? There is blackbox type thing where the cable comes from. Is it supposed to be of a single network provider? Ah i am so confused. Why can't i see anythung from the router webpage.

@Zuke would have to see tomorrow. But what if nobody shares this line. Chances are huge because it used to be from an old local provider. Can i not find out anything by router configuration page?

@pjtsingh Most likely not, unless your ISP has custom firmware with their logo which you would have seen if it existed.

Just ask around for a ISP maybe. Or look for ISPs who serve your city on Google, you might be able to find them or some other ISP.
