cool
Now, there's a problem in the installation process: It detected my
Windows partition for the GRUB bootloader and I moved Windows to the top of the list and made it the default during the installation screens. But the installer needs to reboot once to continue and it expects to have openSUSE as the default (it doesnt show a boot menu with specified delay) and when it boots into Windows and I reboot and try to go into openSUSE the bootup fails with a partition not found error. So do not mess with the GRUB boot settings, do it after you finish installation and boot into your account for the first time.
Also, during install do not select "add online repositories" because that adds a painful 15 min to the install time, then it selects an additional 760mb for installing off the Net!
So, without the additional options the install took less than 30 min on my PC...
Even though it detected my
nVidia 7600 card I can't find Compiz-Fusion although I see a post with some 1-click links. So it looks like I have to install the drivers myself then install desktop effects manually. Not as clean and direct as Ubuntu
OK, I found two pages, first for 1-click install for nVidia, the second is the 1-click install of Compiz-Fusion...
NVIDIA - openSUSE
Compiz Fusion - openSUSE
