Openwrt installed on dir-1360A1 using dir-853A3 official image, both share same pcb & dir-1360 is on Flipkart for ₹1400 if someone wants to try it too

One more thing if you have already installed openwrt, you can install optional packages though luci but never upgrade already installed packages through opkg package manager to different version from inside luci, it can brick your router because opkg doesn't handle dependencies well.
I am not talking about openwrt firmware upgrade through sysupgrade option in luci but only about upgrading through package manager opkg.
 
Sorry for reviving this old thread, but in case someone wants to flash dedicated build for D-Link Dir 1360 A1 , i have compiled it.

Openwrt version is 24.10.5 and I've also made a PR for Official Status

Changes compared to 853-a3 build :-

  • Dedicated DIR-1360 A1 Build
  • All LEDs are mapped properly
  • Correct MAC Addresses
  • USB Support (kmod-usb3)
  • Recovery flashable factory image with correct header
 
Okay guys , just an update, PR was merged into main branch and 25.12 , so we'll have snapshots and 25.12.rc5 or further releases.
OpenWrt maintainer refused to add our device in 24.10.x since 25.12 is already near to release.

Just heads up guys, if you want to flash latest OpenWrt in DIR 1360 A1, you may want to flash below mentioned version since it includes exPA patch, which is required for the stable 5ghz performance.
That patch is not merged in openwrt source yet because jt affects others non exPA devices.
