OpenWRT Supported Router

Hello there. I am using D-Link DIR 1260 in AP Mode to my JioFiber Router. D-Link Router was perfectly stable for 2 months. Now it's gets powered off on it's own once every day at random times. I am not able to figure out the cause. I'll get it replaced but I need a new router to run in AP mode. Any suggestions? How is the new Gigabit Edition of Mi Router?

A big no to Mi router if your budget is 3k.

I don't like Mi router. Previously i purchased Mi 4c router and it is very bad, can't even provide 30mbps and range is also very poor. Better go for TP-Link Archer A6/C6.

Did you try for a replace. It has good reviews by most people. Your unit was mostly faulty

This is the first review on the product page and u will find many more when you scroll down. And yes, I replaced it and not so surprisingly replacement unit also had same performance issue, moreover friend of mine also bought this and regreted the decision.

This isn't exclusive to Mi 4C, every device I've seen for ~1000 has similar performance.

That is probably true because I have Tenda N3, N4, and Mi 4c routers. All of them max out at around ~30mbps. Whereas my TP-Link archer a6 easily gives 500mbps(5Ghz) and ~110mbps(2.4.Ghz)

I had given this buggy D-Link Router to service center. They have confirmed over heating and they will be arranging a replacement unit soon. I am going to place order for a 5 port gigabit switch and use it.

Current Setup: JioFiber Router -> D-Link Router in AP Mode.

New Setup: JioFiber Router -> Ethernet Switch (Will connect few devices here) -> D-Link Router in AP Mode.

Using my TP-Link Archer C6 version 2 EU (similar to A6)- runs awesome, no issues

Also OpenWRT compatible (only EU Version 2, now if u buy they have ver 4).

Check on OpenWRT Table of Hardware which routers are compatible, see which budget router is available in india & then buy.
