REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., Oct. 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Oracle today announced that Sun Direct Pvt Ltd has implemented Oracle(R) Communications Billing and Revenue Management to provide real-time, billing for the company's next generation Direct-to-Home (DTH) services. "In making the move from a content provider to a service provider, we needed to ensure that we had the necessary technology infrastructure in place to bill for services quickly and accurately," said Tony DeSilva, chief operating officer, Sun Direct. "With Oracle, we have implemented a next-generation solution in just months -- accelerating our ability to rapidly deliver new services and deliver a superior customer experience. This is a milestone in redefining the economics of Direct-to-Home service delivery in India."
Oracle was chosen over competing offerings due to the applications' rich functionality. With Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management, Sun Direct is able to accelerate service delivery and reduce time-to-market of new services and enhance operational efficiency, all with a predictable cost of ownership.
"In Asia-Pacific, the sophisticated communications environment is changing rapidly due to new entrants and market consolidation. Service providers must stand out from the crowd in order to remain competitive," said David Sharpley, vice president for product marketing and channels, Oracle Communications. "Oracle is pleased to help Sun Direct transform and expand its business -- enabling the company to rapidly deliver attractive new services and high quality customer care."
