Well, I have meditated, tried all asanas that the Baba recommends, but can't clear the dark gloomy fog that I am surrounded in right now. So, in my struggle I have trekked up to this blessed place and seek enlightenment from the great masters here.
I have connected an old POTS device, with caller ID facility, to the RJ11 port in my Jio Fiber ONT. Note, that the old thing is of BSNL make, the make/model being UTL 81A. I get a dial tone, but when I dial any number, using all combinations, 9876543210, 09876543210, 00919876543210, I get that beautiful lady(hopefully) crooning into my ears that "The dialed number is invalid, please check again". Strangely, I can receive calls on this device though.
Now, very funnily, ( funnily is the operative word here ), if I use another old POTS device, without caller ID, I can make and receive calls - no problem at all on this one. Note, that this other old thing is of BPL make - just a plain-Jane model, no caller ID, no handsfree.
I have tried to fiddle with settings on the BSNL device, but except for date and time settings, nothing seems to be of much consequence, unless I am missing something.
