i didnt know where to post this so i created a new thread.

so i always had minimal packet loss like everybody else.
it was fixed a week ago for like a weak .
now since 2-3 days i am getting constant packet loss. it is hampering my gaming experience.

now how do i measure this packet loss?

i tried -

1) ping command via cmd - packet loss doesnt show there.
2) tried various line quality test websites- packet loss also doesnt show there.

but when i use programs like teamspeak 3 , play games like counter strike , rocket league
i can monitor packet loss easily via network graph that they show in game.

now i cant take screenshots of these network graph and show it to excitel customer support guys.

they're gonna ignore that and do ping command via cmd but its gonna be futile as packet loss doesnt show there.

i am thinking about changing my cable to cat 6. i dont know if this will fix the problem or not.

this is what network graph shows on teamspeak

Hi. That is sure packet loss and type of cable won't help you. You need to have it fixed via backend or check wires.

For Excitel Customer, I always say. "You get what you pay for".

They seems to be near bankruptcy soon.

Fortunately not going into bankruptcy anytime soon. Excitel will continue to be the driver behind the internet revolution in Delhi and Hyderabad. We pioneered high-speed truly unlimited broadband and now we will drive Fiber to Home services. Of course others will follow and this will improve overall experience to all broadband users.

When Jio can acquire Hathway? What is Excitel infront of it?

A company who doesn't even have proper establishment and has to depend upon LCOs. Excitel is an easy purchase for Jio.

But I seriously believe, Excitel will go bankrupt and with the open proposal to LCO from Jio. All of them would leave Excitel and join Jio.

Jio: True Fiber Broadband + Landline + TV.
Excitel: Internet without FUP, Without Power Backup and with loads of Packet Loss and Double NAT.

The only upside of Excitel is FUP, Which I believe Jio will understand sooner when they will see drop in their sales. After that they will introduce some exciting plans (Hathway, ACT and Airtel is already launching Unlimited FUP, Jio won't be left behind).

Excitel's phase out is confirmed.

restarting the excitel device helps for a while but packet loss starts again. very annoying lol.

have exactly the same issue...in kanpur...
I got excitel 2 months back and ever since the start had this issue.
I tried complaining to excitel, even game them remote connection of my laptop and showed them the issue live, but since nothing shows up in cmd ping, they wont do anything about it abd blame my game (Dota).
After weeks of troubleshooting, i have this figured out for sure.

And kindly correct me if i am wrong about something, i am not an expert.

There is a CWMP option in our router. Which uses tr069 protocol to give excitel direct firmware level access to our routers.
With this, they can monitor our connection, upgrade our router firmware and maybe even monitor our traffic (i am not sure).
This CWMP option has a periodic notification time set in our router, and our router reports to the excitel server's at this time (every 1800 sec or something).
This reporting is causing all the problems.

What i did was,
Reset the router using the back pin hole.
After reset, entered my excitel username and password in WAN settings
Then disabled CWMP and also a SAMBA server (i dont know why that was enabled by default).

And i haven't faced this issue.

I noticed this when, i changed the default password for "excitel" user of my router from "exc@123" to something else, and after a few hours, it would just revert back.
So clearly, excitel personnel were fiddling with my router.
Which is not a bad thing per se, until it doesn't hampers my connection.

Try it at your own risk.
You might lose internet connectivity after resetting, and maybe have to call the lco to get your router configured again.
Dont blame me.

PS: Yes i'm very frustrated, as you can see with this post.
