Just asking for sake of. Earlier I would have just chosen Nokia/Samsung for phones, but after using Micromax, I dont mind trying for low cost phones.
Looking at current brands, my preference now is Samsung - Microsoft - Sony - LG - HTC - Lenovo/Moto.

Panasonic seems to be making generic phones. No noticeable hardware or software features that differentiate them from the competition. Best is to stick to known devils!
