I am currently using Airtel xstream fiber in kolkata which is under CGNAT. I and my friend (who also is on airtel xstream fiber) mostly use parsec over tailscale to connect remotely to play games. However, with tailscale it becomes very laggy at times which made me think of getting a static IPv4 address from airtel (I really do not want to pay them that extra amount every month). Lately, I read that IPv6 is a work-around for CGNAT so I called up airtel to enable IPv6 on my end as my friend already had IPv6. However, Parsec still fails to connect without tailscale. I thought it would work as both ends are IPv6. I have tested and can connect remotely using my mobile data ( which is JIO and gives an IPv6 address) from my laptop without tailscale.
Is there something that I am missing? Does airtel block incoming IPv6 connections somehow?
