The reserved Alice leads a routine life as escort and dodges deeper social contact. But when her ex-boyfriend dies in a car accident, the high built up walls around her are scrapped. Alice gets unexpectedly confronted with her six-year-old son Robin who she left behind years ago. "Le Passé Devant Nous" is a film about the deep human fight between the fear for real intimacy and the universal desire for security. The major conflict lies in the relationship between mother and child, the one in which unconditional intimacy seems the most evident.
