I was trying to buy an item from Amazon.com to my Indian address but I am unable to complete my payment, weirdly while choosing my Debit card it does not ask me to verify my cvv number, I have also used this card to do transactions on various international websites and it always works, any way to complete the payment?

It said that the transaction was declined by my bank but weirdly I was able to buy gift card of same value ($82) from the same card without any issues so I bought the item with the gift card.

so does amazon.com asks for aadhaar for shipments to india?

Amazon did not asked for aadhar but the courier partner (DHL) did.

right. as per the supreme court ruling, they no longer can. remains to be seen if it would ever get implemented or government would just make a joke out of the judgement.

I ordered a monitor stand from amazon.com and fedex asked for adhaar. gave them my driving license and pan instead.

@Sushubh, my package was released from Delhi customs today, I called and asked DHL about custom charges and the representative said it was rs 3200, isn't that too much for a $50 item, the item was a nutritional supplement.

wait what? you got charged 100% customs? there's definitely something wrong here

Do they charge custom duty just on item or item+shipping, if the latter then it's $80, 3200 is still too high IMO, shouldn't custom duty be lower on health/medicine related products
