ok this started happening again this morning.
but its almost confirmed that its power button problem.
1st reason, that this time i was actually working on the comp when this happened.
i realized that computer automatically started a PROPER shutdown. such shutdowns happen when power button is pressed. i now also remember that when yesterday it started working, it didnt show filesystem check or journalling check... which means the day b4 when problem started, that time too comp was actually shutdown properly (though automatically)
after this shutdown it was starting and stopping every 5-6 seconds.
then i opened the cabinet and removed power jumper. and shorted the jumper using screwdriver... voila PC was up and running! i again put the jumper back and problem started.
in short its almost sure to be power button problem.. so i will monitor for abt 3-4 days....and then get a new power button.
