Well, Playstation has stayed silent on Twitter ever since they dropped the bomb. Lot of retailers have spoken against them but I guess Sony expected a certain amount of backslash. They are also deleting posts where actual stats which showed that disc games sold more than digital on Reddit. But I don't think they will reverse their stance. The disc factory which they repurposed will be manufacturing components for AI companies so.
