I extended the warranty (for 2 more years) of my HP laptop after 1 year. For 6k. The guy said he knows loop holes in the system!! (infact later on i found other guy who was willing to extend the same for 4.5k)So u can extend the warranty even after 1yr. So its not necessary to extend the warranty in 3 months of purchase. I verified the warranty on HP website.
