Microsoft has never brought back Windows features once dropped.
Since windows 8,
1. Network management for renaming and removing duplicate network connections has been removed.
Since windows 8.1 Preview
1. WEI has been removed from GUI. They didn’t remove it totally. It’s still there but doesn’t show in System Properties anymore.
If you want to run WinSATress the Windows + R keys and type winsat formal.Now check the folder C:WindowsPerformanceWinSATDataStore for the scores.
2. Windows 7 based image recovery too has been removed from GUI. We can create system image by passing commands in Powershell
Paste the following in Windows Powershell
wbadmin start backup -backuptarget:d: -allcritical
d: is the drive where you want to save the image to.
Restore the image by running the setup off Windows 8.1 DVD or USB. Click repair at the Install button screen.
So Microsoft is clearly targeting iPad/iPhone type crowd. They have made life of power users more difficult.
