yes. task manager does the same thing. now, i have got the habit of clearing the RAM. lol. :Dthough, it seems effective, after clearing level 1 & 2, around 9-10 apps are closed and 15-20 mb of memory is relaxed. but, not sure whether it helps battery from draining.would glad to get an insight from your side on this query.

there is one by the name of 'my files'

does it show a linux like folder structure? or just some my documents like folder? :D

android 2.3 also has an app named download that shows the files that are downloaded from the web and other sources. but a file manager is different.

@ 3.20 pm - battery = 79%
@ 5.30 pm - battery = 63%

just on standby.
is this normal? :O

layar
LOST.DIR

there is an application folder which has options through which you can uninstall the installed apps.

this would be possible if you have data turned on with sync. sync is very hard on the battery life. so i keep it off coz it checks my twitter, facebook, gmail and picasa updates! even google reader was added recently. :D

sort of a trick i picked up from some forum.

if you are going out for a longer period and would not have a chance to recharge the phone... a trick is to recharge the phone after turning it off.

i remember reading it on some android forum that the software on android shows the battery as fully charge sort of prematurely. i have myself noticed it on the nexus one... android showed the phone as fully charged. i turned it off and tried charging. it charged even at that stage for a good 30 minutes.

it might give you a longer battery life.

m using optimus 1on 3g network i get around 1 day battery backup ( data on, background sync on, fb, twitter running)on 2g network i get more than 2 days of battery backup.. :)

hehe i tried the trick posted on some android forum ( charge the phone fully and then switch of the phone and charge again for 1 hour)so i guess this trick worked.

It seems that the batteries for smart phones cant hold for bigger CPUs like 1Ghz or more. Donno whats in store for dual cor and next generations of mobile. My Galaxy S gives me a day and half backup with background updates off. No comparison but my other phone, Sony Ericsson W800 (4.5 yrs old) gives me 4 days back up even now.
