Please provide tips to improve battery life on Samsung Galaxy 551

if the beta is not designed for your screensize, i guess you are out of luck for now.

i would suggest contacting them through help or twitter or whatever and tell them that you have this model with this screensize and what you are supposed to do to get swype working on it!

yes, i will try that tomorrow.

swype works fine on LG O1

Seems that 'swype' doesn't work on WQVGA (240x400 resolution) yet.But then wondering why the box says that 'swype' is compatible. :-?I posted a question on swype forums about that.I went through some posts and noticed that there are lot of bugs with the beta version, so I guess we have to wait for the stable one to be released. Also, phones on froyo (v2.2) say that swype doesn't work.

initial beta builds were pretty bad on my phone. but they got much stable during the latter days.

and of course, it worked fine on android 2.2 on N1.

I had tried Swype on my Samsung Galaxy 3. It is quite good. But I am more comfortable with the normal QWERTY keypad.

Wow.....My Galaxy 551 Battery..lasts for 7 days now...because i kept the internet off....the screen brightness fully down....and the screen time out for 15 sec nw...and always dont kept ur phone on idle whe not using it...Hope this helped...

Remove the sim card also.. it will hopefully last for 2 weeks then..

put it in airplane mode. battery should last much much longer.
