Last week, the power button on my Galaxy 551 stopped working. I took it to the service centre. They said that the motherboard has to be changed. I got the phone today. The sad part, when I insert the SIM, my phone says 'Phone is SIM Network locked'.I called the service guys, they first told me that I have to go back to service centre. Then again they said that error is due to the network provider.Anyone knows about this?

the power button on the android phones has been my biggest cause of concern. they are mostly flimsy in nature. and if they go bad, as you found, the motherboard has to be replaced. same thing happened with my friend who owned an HTC Model.

You know the solution to 'Phone is SIM Network locked'? or anything about it?They have replaced the motherboard. I guess they have messed up with the firmware. Maybe, installed a different one. Because, I am sure of one thing that the guys in the service centre, where I took my phone to, are really hopeless.

go to the service center... yell at them. get them to fix this problem. this is definitely a hardware problem.

Called the Samsung service call centre. They advised me the same thing.

I wasn't expecting this from Samsung.

Went & came back.

I am supposed to get back my phone on Wednesday.

PBA was replaced but there was some IMEI number problem and so I was getting 'Phone is SIM Network Locked' error.

The service centre I went to didn't have the capability to repair it and so they have to send it to their branch! (so weird)

I pray for those who own a samsung phone and stay in Kolkata. A high degree of unprofessional-ism exists in the service centres here.
