Poor 2.4Ghz Network Jio Fiber Modem

Hi,

I have Jio Fiber gigabit modem router with 150Mbps speed, to pity it work only in 5Ghz wifi range, 2.4Ghz band have zero coverage, even at 2 m distance from modem. Wifi have very poor coverage in two floors. Is there any way to restore fully 2.4Ghz and disable 5Ghz?

Secondly it connect only to one router, if i attach simultaneously two router to LAN ports, it automatically disconnect internet access from either one of two routers. Did it mean it support only one router at a time to extend network?

I have another problem, there is only one 2.4ghz band in the blue modem. There is no 5Ghz band. The 2.4ghz coverage and speed is pretty poor. I get only 10-15mbps speed at a distance of about 8 metres with one glass door in between.

The 2.4ghz TP-Link modem which I had, had a connection speed more than 100 mbps. I tried to get the CC to replace the modem before lockdown but they said they dont have another one.

Will the 2.4ghz speed increase if I connect another router to it?

Even i am having the same issue, i felt there might be congestion of networks in my locality hence i tried to change the channel of my 2.4ghz band, but to my bad after i saved the changes the wifi itself stopped working like the ssid is not broadcasting and even if broadcasted not able to connect to it but the green light continues to blink, also even the 5ghz band stops working whereas i havent even touched any of its settings (lol) so i called a jio personel to home he ended up saying i need to use a wifi extender for a distance of 5m (lol) and the jio personel has no knowledge about wifi channels which i got pissed off with. i have a connection of 150mbps but get hardly 20mbps in 2.4ghz that too highllllyyy unstable it drops very often, i know that 2.4ghz cant give 150mbps but in my older connection of airtel each device would get atleast 30mbps for 40mbps plan over 2.4ghz.
If anyone can suggest me to change my wifi channel plss do help me, tnx in advance.

I face different issue. 2.4 band works but there is frequent disconnection especially at night.

i would like to readress my problem, i got it corrected. This time after saving settings i just rebooted the fiber once and all settings were saved and not bad getting stable connection now

@virus32win 2.4ghz has more wider range than 5ghz so u must be getting it in both the floors. But if ur having issue connecting to some old devices or smart home apps try changing the mode of 2.4ghz from ng to b or g. As far is i know there is no limitation of extenders as u have 5 ports i believe maybe just try to reboot once after setting

@vikassm73 if ur lossing connectivity at specific times when ur not operating the device it means that problem is with your device and not with router. If ur on pc check wether windows is allowed to turn of wifi driver to save power and battery manager in case of android/ios maybe

Heyy the blue modem one does have 5ghz band (mention ur model no pls for better info). But the 2.4ghz and 5ghz have same ssid so most of the devices( all actually) connect to 2.4ghz only unless u have set ur device to prefer 5ghz band. If there is no option to set preference in ur device then dont worry there is other option also, keep different ssid for 2.4ghz band(usually ap1) and 5ghz band(usually ap4)

Why will the window turn off when I am working on it, using the browser.? Windows Wifi shows a message "No Internet, Connected". At the same time, mobile is connected to the 5Ghz band (Close to router). It may be a signal range issue so I decided to get the location of the router changed.

Jio router network wifi coverage is the shittiest. Router is in hall and I cannot use internet in rooms on same floor. There is just one wall/door in between.

Tried to use old router as repeater but even that won't work properly sometimes poor source network issue, sometimes ip conflict as I cannot assign a static IP to extender in jio router the fucking settings won't work.

Their support team is useless as it seems to be a hardware limitations so they cannot do much even if they wanted. So far they are not ready to replace the router.
