they are within their rights to take necessary actions to preserve the sanctity of their network. any ISP would use this card to justify such blocks. there are of course no definite laws or guidelines preventing such blocks. even if they were, ISPs would justify them stating that they take the actions to prevent overloading of network during day time or whatever.

But shouldn't tht be mentioned somewhere in their T&C .. So tht one can know wht they r supposed to get?

of course they should. they should also be clear about the websites they block when they block them. it's just that it is not easy to target them through courts to get them to do the right thing.

Received a call from the Airtel Presence team today. They said the half speed after post-fup is applicable to Standalone Plans only, not the voice+dsl plans. When I looked it up, the standalone plans offer 256kbps as well. What a bunch of bs.

The standalone plans on the website said 256kbps post fup, and when I called up customer care, they said it's 256kbps even in standalone plans. They're all so confused.
