google does not subsidize the apps. Amazon sort of does because they decide the pricing of your apps.

But I always wonder why android apps are 10 times costlier than in Nokia Store.

lol. i am not sure. but apps that are available for both ios and android are usually priced at the same rate.

The apps and games which I had purchased in Rs 5 and 10 in Nokia Store are available in 50 or 110 in Google play.Fe such examples are UNO , asphalt , NFS , spiderman etc.

well from what i see, google like Apple allows you to price apps in a pre-defined range. 99 cents is the lowest and 999 dollars is the highest. special offers does allow them to offer the apps at lower prices like when we had the sale of apps selling at 10 cents each. but officially, i do not think apps can be priced at lower than 99 cents.i am however not sure if indian prices could be set at lower levels considering they do allow apps to be priced differently in different regions. let me ask a friend who has access to android developers panel.

The minimum price for a normal app (i.e. not by a Top Developer etc) in Google Play is 0.99 USD/0.50 GBP/0.50 EUR. Maximum price is 200 USD/100 GBP/100 EUR.It's sad that it's mid-2012 now and one still cannot sell apps with an Indian bank account in Google Play today.

i thought they allowed you to set different prices for different markets. u cannot set a different price for india?

No. The INR price shown in Google Play is actually an estimate. Google Play charges in USD to your credit card and the bank converts it to INR with whatever charges they might have.

so basically, you cannot set a different price for the indian market. that's all i wanted to know.

Yep. That is true. I had got Smart tools for 25c, which as appeared Rs. 12.25 or something. But when it actually got charged to my account, it was 12.5 or thereabouts.But on charging of apps.....i have always seen a free, ad supported versions of numerous apps. Doesnt Apple do that? So if u cant afford, but u would like to give the app a try, u can have the ad-supported version, or the version with lesser [email protected] times there are offers on Samsung app store for the games that u have listed out. And these are available for totally free. But mind u, the moment u upgrade ur OS, u lose that. And at that time, if the offer isnt open, then u dont get it back. Dont know why Samsung cannot connect with ur account!
