Post your static ip review.

I am going to get static ip for 2000₹ annually. If anyone currently using bsnl static ip please post review about it.

Got static ip. Route to 1.1.1.1 going to Mumbai.

Did u get v6 or v4? BSNL should've started v6 services by now.

I got ipv4 only. I asked for v6 jto told me it will take time and there is no timeline.

Hello Guys,

I'm working abroad so couldn't goto a BSNL office. I'm planning to visit India next month and I have some questions :

1. Will BSNL allow our own router? - I get internet thru BSNL -> TamilNadu Govt Fibre (TACTV) -> my home

If there is a problem the agent of TACTV goes to BSNL to fix it.​

If they allow our own router, is there a website to see any reviews and what my options are?​

2. I'm planning to get static IP as well - Prefer IPv4. No plans to host anything - but just curious to know if they allow to open port 80/443? (At least will BSNL will allow)?​

Answers to both the questions are yes. To use own router, onu needs to be put in bridge mode.

Anyone knows why my static ip location is showing Gorakhpur up?

And why does that matter? Geo location with IPs is approximate and can change.

The IP block is from that location, I guess. The website which you're checking from just has a approx. location of that IP range. It is not the exact one. Just check routing to see if its good enough. BSNL is sharing these IPs among circles from what I assume.

@Chip it doesn't matter but the speedtest app connects to the server in Gorakhpur based in ip location and I have to manually select servers in ncr region
@shashankb routing is pretty good for my purpose.
Also in previous post I mentioned cloudflare going to mumbai, now it is back to delhi.

Also the static ip fixed my office VPN, which was connecting to chennai previous now it is going to ggn airtel with far better latency and bandwidth.
