as the topic says, can anyone share rates which you are paying for power backup
and what does this power backup bill is look like every month.
Apartment I am looking at says Rs.18/unit when Genset backup in ON.

yups as my status says, planning to move to NCR from a very cheap city and need to learn the basics
and be prepared for such surprises.

around 4 years ago, the society where i lived charged 12 bucks per unit for genset backup. here in gurgaon.

- There is (generally) also a commitment of minimum usage like 100units.
- Once we started with this power backup thing we were extremely cautious of what we use on power back and what not and we used to remain inside of 100units per month commitment but as time passed we realized that it is a daily thing and we can not be stingy so the usage depends on the hours of power cut in a month. In Ghaziabad these hours may be as long as 20 hours a day and without AC our usage touches 200 units a month (with refrigerator, plasma, fans, lights, washing machine, occasional usage of microwave is included).
- You may also have to pay maintenance charges in addition to that.
