Last year once there was high voltage in my area and because of that in the back of my TV there was smoke with noise for that i spent around Rs. 1200 but my Philips DVD and TS did not get affected on high voltage.........

Voltage might have came via cable wire :hysterical:

This is because now DVD and other appliances are designed to work between
90V to 270V. Even now UPS is also designed to work between 135V to 300V.

He is using Tata Sky STB, are u saying that Voltage may come from Satellite.
Its not possible, current cannot be transmitted like Signal.

It was because you were watching CAS that time and not TS. That is why you were saved. Or else you would have been one of the angry TS subscriber.

oh kumar, you forgot he has CAS STB also.which comes through cable wire.

He also has CAS stb and a cable connection for it. He gets lot of channels which are missing in TS.

His tv inside power system may not have been good enough. So caused the problem.

Even in CAS the cable wire will not go directly in to the TV Set, it goes to the STB and then, from STB it goes to TV Set. Try to understand my point.

If u use stabalizer then u can save ur TV. So better use the Stablizer for ur TV Set. HIGH/LOW CUT OFF.

Ok I am editing. He said most of the tvs in his area got burned alive. So it is power problem.

I learnt a lesson on that day and after i bought a stabalizer after that........i think TV or another product gets affected only to high voltage if there is low voltage i think the product wont funtion
