i remember some guy from my area trying to get a new beam connection in our area and was blocked my local cablewallahs.....will check other sites and update....

BTW i did use cmd with administrative privileges...:/ still ip didnt get release..

netant

One more thing to check if ipconfig /release has been successfully worked or not.. once you did /release wait for 10 second and again run /release .. it should throw you an error that no network adapter found or similar error.
yea.. i tried this too..waited for 5-10 secs and tried again..no such luck.. :S

and i got this new doubt....since u ppl connect to beam portal....your ip address is automatically configured rite..?!( i mean "get new ip automatically " option is enabled in internet properties window rite..?!)
with my connection i should enter the ip given by my beam local wallah...so ..i get one permanent ip right..!?!?? WTH.?!

I remember my technician telling them Beam stopped using 24x7 sometime back... now they only use http://portal.beamtele.com/
i tried opening this site..still getting the below error!! :S

This didn't sound good. I guess you are not connceted to beam directly .. rather a proxy ISP from your local cable-walah

netant I noticed one interesting thing....... as mentioned by you I tired to login via the PPOPE method, I normally use the web portal login...... when I used the PPOPE method I got correct download speeds around 14.5 Mbps but the uploads were just maxing out around 2 Mbps......... when back to the normal portal login my download are again around 14.5 Mbps and my upload speeds are back to 11 Mbps.......... just wanted to share if you are also seeing something like this.

thats the prob!!! am not able to use the above mentioned PPPoE mothed..as am unable to free my IP!! :x

@bobbyguitarist I did not do it via the method Netant mentioned as I use a WiFi router I just entered the username and pwd in the PPOPE option and rebooted the router......... no need to go to the beam portal page directly can use the net like a Airtel connection..... but upload is being capped by this PPOPE method at-least that is what I observed......... I looks like the connection to is not provided directly by Beam but a third party hence that 24online client is sitting in the middle........ that is my assumption.
