PRISM Surveillance Program

I for one like that Miss USA contestant am okay with all this surveillance.
For the most part, it's juts machines crunching words and numbers, and to it, i'm just another number and not a person. Even to the people who look into all the data treat it as just numbers and not actual people. It just loses any meaning when working with such huge numbers.
Plus if it's for our safety, we should look at the greater good.

I think i've been of this view for quite a while.

People are not that much complaining about tracking. They are complaining about the secrecy. Government claims that they have stopped x number of terrorist attacks through PRISM. But they would not even reveal the data related to these prevented attacks and how they were stopped and whatever.
In any case, why are they so afraid of letting companies like Google and Facebook reveal to public which department asked for how many details? No one is asking to reveal specific details about each and every request? They would not even allow department specific requests. Just a generic number.

Petitioner also ask govt to order companies to move their servers to india and apply governing indian law.
In short , its like Take the surveillance from US and give it to India.

lol. good luck with indian bandwidth situation. indian users already connect to servers based in singapore i think. it would be stupid on google's part if we are indeed connecting to servers based in usa.

I dont know ., given the power shortage , can we even have basic server infrastructure to handle one decent site ?

lol. data centers are properly equipped. this site is running from a data center based in noida for example. and from what i understand google already cache a lot of data in indian data centers operated by local isps.
but expecting data of all indian web users to be exclusively hosted in indian data centers would probably be idiotic for our beloved government to expect from google (and facebook).
