I am in hyderabad and have a 256kbps connection. The problem is that when i ping the airtel DNS servers..i keep getting timed outs after every 10 or so replies. This happens on all the DNS servers. When i ping them all at once...they all time out at the same time.It affects my download speed. and is really noticable when playing online games like counter strike(almost impossible). The guy at the customer support had no clue... he was talking about my system having viruses...etc.I am able to ping my modem fine..so i guess its the connection from the modem to the airtel servers which is the problem. any suggestions???

I dont think its a virus problem . Can you send the response time . Maybe there is some network looping

The response time are between 35 - 70ms. They sometimes go upto 200 for 1 or 2 replies. I've posted the pings belowC:\Documents and Settings\kv>ping 203.145.184.32 -tPinging 203.145.184.32 with 32 bytes of data:Reply from 203.145.184.32: bytes=32 time=39ms TTL=58Reply from 203.145.184.32: bytes=32 time=87ms TTL=58Reply from 203.145.184.32: bytes=32 time=33ms TTL=58Reply from 203.145.184.32: bytes=32 time=51ms TTL=58Reply from 203.145.184.32: bytes=32 time=36ms TTL=58Reply from 203.145.184.32: bytes=32 time=64ms TTL=58Request timed out.Reply from 203.145.184.32: bytes=32 time=41ms TTL=58Reply from 203.145.184.32: bytes=32 time=39ms TTL=58Reply from 203.145.184.32: bytes=32 time=130ms TTL=58Reply from 203.145.184.32: bytes=32 time=95ms TTL=58Reply from 203.145.184.32: bytes=32 time=54ms TTL=58Request timed out.Reply from 203.145.184.32: bytes=32 time=31ms TTL=58Reply from 203.145.184.32: bytes=32 time=53ms TTL=58Reply from 203.145.184.32: bytes=32 time=35ms TTL=58Reply from 203.145.184.32: bytes=32 time=38ms TTL=58Reply from 203.145.184.32: bytes=32 time=91ms TTL=58Reply from 203.145.184.32: bytes=32 time=69ms TTL=58Reply from 203.145.184.32: bytes=32 time=66ms TTL=58Reply from 203.145.184.32: bytes=32 time=46ms TTL=58Reply from 203.145.184.32: bytes=32 time=65ms TTL=58Reply from 203.145.184.32: bytes=32 time=72ms TTL=58Reply from 203.145.184.32: bytes=32 time=55ms TTL=58Reply from 203.145.184.32: bytes=32 time=41ms TTL=58Ping statistics for 203.145.184.32: Packets: Sent = 25, Received = 23, Lost = 2 (8% loss),Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 31ms, Maximum = 130ms, Average = 57msand whats network looping??

So here is the problem ......It should be less than 1ms as you can see my ping to my broadband.Reply from 10.31.164.16: bytes=32 time

ping shows slow network connection(depend on the ip location where you are pinging) ... so there are chances tat u can have time out ....
