Problem with SunDirect HD STB

Hi,I bought a new Sundirect HD connection last week.It is working fine, but the HD channel volume can not be controlled with the STB remote control.So all the HD channels volume are coming at maximum level to TV.Whenever we switch the channel from normal to HD in STB, TV sounds at high volume that is enough to damage the speaker.I asked the technician to check the STB and solve the problem, but they say it is TV problem and these STB function like this only with 5 series LCD tv.I do not understand his reason and I suspect it product.Please tell me what is the problem.Here is my detailSONY LCD 32" TV - model 32BX320Please tell me how to solve this problem.Thanks,Best regards,Sakitram
