Random WiFi disconnections on Airtel Xstream box

Can anyone please tell if it is an Android STB, then can we use VPN on it to stream YouTube videos which are currently restricted in India ( which says "not available in your country"). I can stream them on my mobile using VPN but is it possible on Airtel xstream STB?

@DaRkLoRdB2 : Yes it is a Android Box. However, it's very restricted and doesn't work when you don't have a subscription from them.

Better get a Fire Stick or Mi Box.

Actually I have to get a new DTH connection for my new TV so I think in that case it would be a better choice.

I am having Airtel Xstream STB in my DTH . Since one month , I am having issues with Youtube . The app opens , but the screen freezes immediately . It does not stream . When I reported to the CC , they are telling that it is a universal problem and they are taking with Google regarding this bug . Is anyone using this stb facing the same issue ? Kindly reply .

Yes same case with my STB..zee5 app also same case.

Software is buggy in Xtreme box

@venkataramani I have exact same issue. I tried to stream on Sony Liv App but it never worked for me. It just stays on the Sony Liv Logo forever. Same issue with Netflix and Hotstar
The only app which streams is Youtube

I wonder whether airtel fibre customers are also facing similar issues while streaming from different apps . Some Airtel fibre broadband customer can inform their position . It is disheartening to note that Airtel does not sem to bother when we report such problems . It is a pity .

The problem is with the firmware of the Xstream set top box, not with the internet connection. That being said, Amazon Prime, Netflix and Hotstar/Disney+ seem to be working okay now. Dunno about the other OTT apps though.

Does the Airtel Xstream STB support Sunnxt App ? Some time back I read that it is being added . But presently I can't find the App in the STB .
