RBI wants you to fill the entire card details for every online payment

Is it required to tokenize my cards rn or is it possible to do it after Jan 1 too? Was thinking it would be a good way to just get rid of all the unused cards from websites and then only save those that I use.

It should be possible henceforth. So yeah, let them get deleted and then add back.

RBI tokenisation deadline extended by 6 months till June 30, 2022

Earlier, RBI had given a deadline of December 31 for tokenisation.

They finalised tokenisation in September 2021 and wanted everyone to develop and adopt the tech in 3 months

Next time, RBI should finalise at 11:59 pm and everyone should adopt it at midnight. Else, a penalty of Rs 1cr per day for non-compliance should be charged. That will teach them.
