RCS Messaging on Apple iPhone here in India

Does Jio support RCS messaging? I have iOS 18, but I can’t see RCS in my messaging options.

Yes, Jio supports RCS between Jio to Jio.

Problem is, many people are either having RCS option disabled (they never setup it) or they are using some Message app which does not support RCS.

I don't think it necessarily requires Jio to Jio; I have sent messages between Jio and Airtel.

@bk~ Never worked for me. Only Jio to Jio worked.

Doesn’t seem to have been enabled for iPhones yet. Maybe after official release of iOS 18 next week.

Jio has not enabled RCS for iOS yet. Even if you are on iOS 18, you can’t use RCS. You can check this in the Settings > General > About > Tap on “Carrier” under Sim or ESIM twice to reveal IMS status and it will say “Voice & SMS”. I wouldn’t hold my breath for it tho, because telecom companies have no incentive to bother enabling it. From boomers to young, everyone prefers Whatsapp.

As @BertMac said just updated to official release right now and can confirm the same . Can ppl using airtel or Vodafone confirm if it works for them ?

I am getting RCS message option in my Pocox6 Pro 5G on Airtel network ..although not activated bcoz not using..
