don't know
i want to reinstall windows on my computer because i suspect that it's infected. on xp it was pretty easy to establish an internet connection, you simply had to put the cd in and plug in the usb cord. on vista, which i have now, i don't know how to do this. They gave me a "110BX1 adsl2 + router" thing and somebody came and established the connection. but now that i want to reformat, calling someone over is inconvenient, i want to be able to do this myself. i remember that person who installed it, went to "network connections" and typed in some numbers and other things.. don't the airtel people provide any instructions regarding how to get this done? because i'm clueless can anyone help me out? thanks.

It looks like you are using USB to connect in Bridge modeinstall modem drivers from ur CD (as u r using USB and not LAN)Connect the USB to ur computerGo to Network and Sharing center in your Control PanelClick on --> Setup a new ConnectionSelect --> Connect to InternetNow it will display --> How do u want to Connect?Selct --> Broadband (USB) note: while using LAN it say Broadband (PPPoE)Provide your Username and passwordclick connectYour connection is ready

thanks for replying but i think you misunderstood there is no cd, none was provided. a "110bx1 adsl2 +router" was provided and this thing connects to the ethernet socket in the computer

Beetel 110Bx1 has only 1 LAN port. So there's no question of USB.Secondly you need to tell whether your modem is configured in PPPOE mode or Bridge mode.Even if you don't enter any IP addresses in Network Connections, the modem will automatically get them. You don't need to enter them manually. If you're stuck, call Airtel Customer Care. Their customer care rocks. :)

I dont think they provide a cd. In my case the technician install the program through pen drive for vista. Call the technician it is the best way

Just follow steps given in this web site. ( screen shots )
The modem/router settings are
same as Beetel 110BX1 ( plus wireless unit= 450BX1)
VPI VCI for Airtel 1 and 32
DNS as given by Airtel or opendns 208.67.220.220
and 208.67.222.222
