I mean if my phone’s giving me 7-8 hours of screen on time, and I can charge it from 30 to 80% in a few minutes and go about my day, it would be pretty magical.
If you want to go about a day or even closer, a 100% charged phone is a must. Overnight charging makes sense and actually fits well in the schedule and is not going anywhere anytime soon.
Apple optimised charging works on the same assumption that people charge their devices at night, so the devices charge fast till 80% and resume charging around the time user is expected to start using the devices again. I’m giving it a hard time as my usage pattern keeps changing.
Things are obviously different if you’ve a Max or Ultra variants phones.
Google and Samsung don't even provide the promised charging speeds. From what I remember, Samsung's 45w charging is barely faster than the 25w one even though it should be nearly twice as fast. Google bundled a 30w charger with the pixel and hinted it has 30w charging but it actually only does 23w. Personally I would have been happy with 45w which actually charges at that level but I can see cases people that might need even faster charging speeds.
