My friend's friend does video shooting of functions/parties in AP.After one of the recording, he saved it on a Hitachi External Hard Drive.
I have been said that it comes with password protected software and they seemed to have messed it up, now they cannot retrieve the video.
Problem is that the video recording is of the marriage of a very wealthy person's son, and he needs it desperately.
They seemed to have contacted the "Hitachi" Service centre in Hyderabad which was sent to Delhi but of no avail since they could not solve the issue.
These people being non technical, could not properly explain it to me but did say that the service centre mentioned them that if they could get hold of another similar device, they could use that device's head to read the contents of this device. They say that the product has been stopped and they dont have any with them.
What are the options available?
