Hi. First of all accept my apologies for posting slightly (or may be completely) off-topic post in this section. This is not a feedback, but a question regarding Xenforo server setup. I had never used this software, but now I have been assigned to setup a forum. Could you please suggest the optimium server configuration for running a high traffic forum site? How much CPU/RAM/etc. would be enough? Which web host or server would you recommend? Any affiliates link with some free credits or discount?

You need to take in the estimated traffic you will be expecting for your Forum site first to decide the resources you need to allot. The provider also depends on what user base you have. If it is not mission-critical and you can afford a little bit of downtime, cheaper options will also do. This forum seems to be hosted on DigitalOcean and I have not experienced downtime in few months.

Choosing a server location closest to the user base is recommended
Xenforo is what this one runs on. Free ones are also there. Open source forums
Discourse seems to be pretty popular among the free ones

GCP and AWS offer a free tier but their Paid ones after one year come out to be costly. Migrating will be a hassle you don't want.
