Looks like Amazon & Flipkart's PR department has hired a lot of people to swing public opinion to suit their agenda by posting carefully crafted lies all over the social media platforms, blogs and forums.

This new rules finally offer a level playing field for all. Unfair trade practices by biggies will come down. A lot of local businesses with better service quality will flourish.

I'm sympathetic to your viewpoint as a trader, so I'm not going to needlessly argue.

But why was it allowed to happen in the first place? Why did the current government turn a blind eye all this while? They will roll it back once the elections are over.

You will get same products much faster and at reasonable prices from crores of small businesses now.

No I won't.

Remember one thing if none of you are aware of. Amazon had different policies for Appairo Retail/CloudTail as compared to other Sellers.

I bet none of you would ever enjoy easy returns now.

Amazon strictly does "Replacement Only" for the non-inhouse sellers. There is no Easy Returns.

So whatever you buy, keep in mind. Amazon will ask 100 questions before they will process your replacement (forget about refund).

P.S.: Return/Replacement are dependent upon the seller and sellers would never agree for refund. Amazon cannot enforce them to do the refund.

So this new rules will going to damage the online sales more.

Do you think anyone would buy anything online when the prices of offline are as same as online? Answer is BIG NO.

Do you think third-party sellers will provide the same sort of packaging or services? Answer is BIG NO.

I tell you a simple case of DSLR.

Amazon's own seller (in-house) doesn't open the DSLR and send them to the buyer directly.

But other sellers (which are not in-house) unboxes the DSLR, check the content and then send it to the customer.

How would you know if the battery came with it is genuine? How would you know if the lens came with it is genuine? How would you know if the SD Card came with it is genuine?

I did shopping on Amazon because either it was Appairo or CloudTail. I don't even look for products which doesn't have these sellers.

Frankly speaking. I used to pay 1-2K extra if these were the sellers.

Reason: Better Return Policy, Better Quality of Product, More Genuine and Most Important: Very Recent Manufacturing.

So if you are buying Router of TP-Link.

Appairo will always have latest version. But the other seller might sell you the same router of previous version (can be 2-3 years old).

tbh. refunds does work with Amazon fulfilled products. after second replacement you can ask for a refund. it works for most product categories even when they say that the product is unreturnable. you just have to deal with extra work by ordering a replacement first.

but i assume everything changes from today.

@Sushubh Not True. I did without replacement also. :)

That is what I'm saying. What you are thinking "It is a bad change".

I am telling it is 100 times more bad change.

Very few people are aware of a lot of things which mass people doesn't know.

sadly lot of third party sellers use fake reviews (refund money for fake review), sell cheap(quality), fake products. Its just not the same as buying from cloudtail.

Earlier I used to buy a lot from flipkart because of WS retail but then they moved to their marketplace model and everything turned to shit. I stopped buying from flipkart and moved to Amazon, I won't mind paying few extra bucks for peace of mind. For me it was not just discounts but the convenience of easy returns and availability of products.

local/offline shops don't believe (few are exceptions) in concept of returning customers, once they get their money they don't care. If its a big business/shop and they sell products at discounted rates they are usually rude too.

Totally correct. I had nightmares buying some electronics from a local shop, and I promised myself to never ever buy from local shops again. Btw all the salesman sell utter lies and please don't go for their recommendations, (even the reliance digital, and the local electronic shop) it's based on pure commission and if you are not technically sound, you will regret buying from them they will sell you complete crap. Also the concept of after sale service doesn't exist for them.
