Reliance DTH: 250 channels in High Definition like quality at no extra cost

Guys, They are advertising HD like qaulity and none of their FAQ say True HD and fom internal sources got to know that they had setup a Studio in Mumbai where they are upscaling all the channels and transmitting in HD like quality . And Definately, Among all other operators quality of SD channels in Reliance is much better.So, Better wait for True HD to be introduced, because that again will come with a Price and it mostly depends on Channels not Broadcasters. With Zee and Star dominating some channels, their will always be issues.
 
to upscale all u need is a decent a/v receiver. u don't need reliance to do it for u :)

@ wickedmonk: If so, then reliance is saving your 50,000 + and providing HD like Quality in FOC :P

No need for that receiver as well as the Reliance new technology to make it HD like. My LCD TV can do that. Even if Reliance is doing something you don't see the difference. Thats how they need not to do anything but earn the name that they are providing HD like quality.

Yes. they appear fine, no stretching issues.
 
But how do they do that? I mean, how do they convert content shot in 4:3 aspect ratio into 16:9 without losing the bottom and top?Are you sure, even in watching 16:9 aspect ratio of your TV, you can watch the whole screen without stretching?
 
Does RDTV really offer 250 hd like channels to hd customers / they just convert sd picture 4:3 to 16:9?Any old RDTV HD customer find the reality? Really SD channels now they get HD like quality / just SD channels now get in 16:9 quality?Really SD channel quality improved now compare to older SD channels?Thanks.
