i stay away from reliance. my dad has a reliance connection which i want changed to some other provider. but dad does not want to change his number. i hope number portability arrives soon enough. if not i would just throw away his phone and force him to move to tata indicom

samsung has introduced a couple of cdma phones which allow you to move from one cdma service provider to another by just changing the sim card.

i am not worried about handsets. reliance and tata indicom handsets are cheap. you can get a decent mobile phone for 1500 bucks. its the terrible service that i get from reliance webworlds. credit card machines are never working. people are rude. it's just awful. tata indicom centers are much better in my experience.

there have many complaints with tata indicom too.

In case of service, I feel GSM players are better, especially Airtel and Idea.

Even VF is not that bad.. I have been using VF from last 5 years.. and no problem what so ever.. sometimes they occur.. they are rectified within 5-7 days ..

i too have used VF for more than a year..no problems till today..
